U1 (URB12450-U1-SMB) uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LIFePO4) battery technology; one member in a family of rechargeable Lithium chemistries that power most of the devices we use in our every day lives. Lithium technology provides outstanding gravimetric and volumetric energy density, enabling devices to be made smaller and lighter.
U1 can be charged and discharged more than 2,000 times and still deliver more than 80% of its original capacity. This equates to five and half years of daily use.
U1 communicates with your device via SMBus and provides a myriad of pertinent information such as Remaining Capacity, Cycle Count and Remaining Run-time to Empty, so you know exactly how much energy you have in the battery and how long your system will run for.
U1 protects itself from external abuse, which maximizes performance and safety. The battery management system within U1 protects it against over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short-circuit or over-temperature.
U1 actively and intelligently balances the capacity if its internal cells – this maximizes the energy delivery per cycle and promotes extended product life.
U1 can be charged in as little as 2 hours when a fast charge time is required. It can also be charged using most regular 2-stage lead-acid battery chargers.
U1 can be used in any orientation and does not release gas during use, making it easy to install and maintain.
U1 can be easily integrated into medical devices thanks to its IEC 62133-2:2017 certification, which is a requirement of medical devices certified to IEC 60601-1.
U1 works seamlessly with medical cart power inverters from both Tripp Lite and Ametek Powervar, so you can make the change from lead acid to Ultralife LiFePO4 technology quickly and easily. The U1 can also directly replace existing LiFePO4 batteries from Valence Technology (U1-12RT, U1-12RJ), Inventus Power (U1-40) or Power-Sonic (PSL-12450).
