Each year, Ultralife’s battery manufacturing facilities in the USA, UK, Canada, and China are externally audited to ISO 9001 by a certified body. The intent of the audit is to confirm that we meet the International Standards and maintain a certified Quality Management System (QMS). Ultralife has maintained certification to the ISO 9001 standards for many years.
Our QMS consists of processes and procedures that assist in day-to-day activities. These procedures enable us to perform operations consistently, providing products that meet our customers' needs and regulatory requirements. Although ISO uses the term “Quality Management System,” it is in our view a Business Management System.
In addition to quality, there are processes in place for all aspects of the organization including upper management, customer fulfillment, purchasing, new product development, maintenance, and manufacturing. As well as processes centred around day-to-day operations, we also maintain procedures for customer satisfaction, corrective and preventive action, preventive maintenance, calibration, traceability, and risk management to name a few.
As an organization, we are proud to maintain our certification by integrating these processes into our culture. As every great company knows, there is always room for improvement, and we have a procedure for that too. By choosing Ultralife and our subsidiary companies (Accutronics Ltd in the UK, Southwest Electronic Energy in the USA, Excell Battery in Canada, and Able New Energy in China), our customers can be assured that they are getting high quality products that have been manufactured in facilities approved by a certified body.
