Ultralife has enhanced its URB12400-U1-SMB Lithium Iron Phosphate smart battery to offer a 19% increase in energy (584Wh compared to 492Wh). To reflect the change, the product has a new name - the URB12450-U1-SMB - but is still commonly referred to as the smart U1.
Originally launched back in 2017, the smart U1 is specifically designed as an embeddable battery for medical carts and comes pre-qualified for use with Tripp Lite and Ametek Powervar inverters. The upgrade comes at a time when Ultralife is expanding its portable power offering for medical carts; with the launch of the URS-X5 power system and URB-X5 hot-swappable battery.
The URS-X5 power system offers cart users a hybrid configuration, where the URB12450-U1-SMB embeddable battery can be used alongside the URB-X5 removeable batteries, when longer runtimes are required. The U1 acts as an energy reservoir, sitting in the base of the cart, providing energy when the URB-X5 is exhausted.
And that energy is now greater than ever, thanks to the upgrade that will help the battery to better serve the medical carts of tomorrow.
