Ultralife Corporation will launch its latest LiFePO4 lead acid replacement battery for the medical sector ahead of this year’s HIMSS healthcare and IT conference in Orlando, Florida. Visitors will be able to view the new product on the Scott-Clark Medical Booth 2287 at the show, at the Orange County Convention Center from February 19 to 23, 2017.
Ultralife will launch the new smart LiFePO4 battery in advance of this year’s HIMSS conference, giving the 45,000 visitors the opportunity to view the battery, which delivers higher performance than traditional sealed lead acid (SLA) batteries. As visitors to the conference will know, portable electronic devices are becoming much more vital to patient care. It is therefore vital that the new generation of batteries offer a high level of reliability for health professionals to use in medical devices.
Traditional SLA batteries are often used in medical carts, robotics & uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems, which supply emergency power when the main power fails, yet Ultralife LiFePO4 batteries outperform them on nearly every measure.
“Although we can't give too much away ahead of the big launch in the run up to HIMSS, this new LiFePO4 battery brings some key improvements over traditional SLA batteries. In addition, we’ve taken the decision to keep this product on home soil and assemble the battery in our NY plant so customers can be assured of exceptional quality and fast delivery times” explained Mike Manna, President – Battery and Energy Products at Ultralife Corporation.
“Medical professionals need batteries for increasingly demanding applications where high power, accurate monitoring and fast charging are becoming a necessity. Our range of LiFePO4 lead acid replacement batteries are guaranteed to not only deliver on this necessity, but are also three times lighter - significantly reducing the weight of their device or, if weight reduction isn’t a factor, providing three times more energy.”
The launch of Ultralife’s new Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery will be announced on Ultralife’s website before the HIMSS conference in Florida.
Demand for this new product is expected to be high and visitors to the HIMSS 17 Conference & Exhibition in Florida can be amongst the first to get a glimpse as it will be officially launched on Booth 2287 19-23 February.
This new smart battery joins a range of SLA replacement batteries offered by Ultralife Corporation, which are available across Europe through UK-based Ultralife company Accutronics and numerous distributors.
